Obituary of Cornelius Wiebe

Cornelius “Neil” Wiebe, 83, of Winnipeg, formerly of Grunthal, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the River Park Gardens PCH in Winnipeg.

Left to treasure Neil’s memories are his best friend and wife of 61 years, Agatha, his children: Raymond (Rose) Wiebe, Rachel (Peter) Wiebe, Randy Wiebe, and Nancy (Mike) Neufeld. He will be forever cherished by his grandchildren Treena (Greg) Redmon, Gloria Wiebe, Jeremy Wiebe, Emma Neufeld (Jason), Gavin Neufeld, and great-grandson Connor Redmon.

He is also survived by his siblings: George (Sarah) Wiebe, Pete (Tina) Wiebe, Dave (Dorothy) Wiebe, Henry (Marie) Wiebe, Helen (Abe) Reimer, Margaret (Lorne) Funk, Ed (Margaret) Wiebe; in-laws Lois Wiebe, Sue (Pete) Friesen, Mary (Bert) Duncan, Neil (Marlene) Voth, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Aaron (in infancy), parents Frank and Aganetha Wiebe, and brother Philip Wiebe.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at River Park Gardens PCH for their incredible care and compassion. Also, Hermie (his neighbor), for always looking out for him from the day he moved in.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. Viewing will take place half an hour prior to the service.
