Obituary of Guy Desmarais

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Guy Desmarais on  Friday, April 1, 2022, at St. Pierre Hospital at the age of 77. 

Guy was born June 7, 1944 in Montreal, Quebec. 

He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his son Maurice (Janice), daughter Chantal (Alain), grandchildren Sylvie (Dylan) and Eric as well as his great grandson Brody. Also left to cherish in his memory his sister Ginette Desmarais Carrière, his brother Richard Rompre; also, his brother and sisters-in-law Roger (Roberta) Carriere, Dolores (Germain) Roy, Pauline (Bryan) Korol, Jocelyne (Ed) Hodgert, Robert (Pauline) Carriere, Annette (Guy) Bouvier and their families. 

Guy was predeceased by his wife Armande and his parents Margarita Émond et Claude Desmarais. As well as his in-laws Jeanne et Armand Carriere,  brothers-in-law Claude Carriere, Norm Carriere and Gerry Default. 

He was a good father and there is nothing he would not have done for his children, grandchildren and great grandson as he loved them all. He loved socializing with family and friends and talk about sports especially his favourite team the Quebec Nordiques. 

The family would like to thank St. Pierre EMS and St. Pierre Hospital staff who went above and beyond to care for dad.

No funeral or memorial service is being planned.

The family will be notifying loved ones in the future when a private burial will take place.
