I have so many fond memories of Mrs Fast. The experience of sitting at her dining room table with all her loved ones as she had complete control in her kitchen. She would graciously whipped up a delicious and generous meal for all of us while we visited. Once everyone was served, she would inconspicuously come join us at the table and participate in the festivity. Her entire home was filled with laughter and love. She also always had room for one more at her table. I truly find myself blessed and loved being one of those people. She will be sincerely missed and she made a lasting impression in my heart.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Emily's passing. We always admired her caring and selfless nature. She was a True Friend and someone who was always a pleasure to be around. You would "Never" be able to leave her home without having a meal. It was just unthinkable.
We are very sorry that we could not have visited her during these past lengthy Covid times.
Our Deepest Condolences to the family during this difficult time. Emily was an amazing woman and she will Truly be Missed.

We would like to extend our condolences to all of the Fast family. Your mom was always so generous and kind and will be remembered by so many of us in Niverville as such a wonderful and loving Lady. She was a huge part of our Community and has left many memories. We have had the pleasure of enjoying her cooking and Easter bread on many occasions. Know that your are in our prayers at this time.

Today I would like to pay a special tribute to a longtime matriarch of Niverville, a cordial and hospitable neighbour and a faithful friend, the inimitable Emily Fast. Emily leaves behind a legacy of a family of community builders, and she herself helped to build a stronger community with a heart for others without partiality. She always had an open house where all were welcome, she was generous, she was kind and loving, she was industrious and a hard worker. She was very loyal and supportive of every community initiative and fund-raising effort as well as a loyal supporter of local businesses. These are the things that build a strong community.
I remember back in the years of 1977 to 1980 when I ran the meat department for the Niverville IGA store. Without controversy, Emily was my most loyal customer, as she would come in every Saturday afternoon to purchase all of her meat requirements for the coming week. She was never so concerned about the price as she was that she support local business. I think that it was her loyal support that kept that meat business afloat during those years.
Without question, Emily had a mind of her own, but she also knew a love that was deeper than mind, deeper than whether you agreed with her or not. She was good and kind to all, and will be sorely missed. Niverville will never be the same, but we all have been greatly enriched by her memory and her legacy. We WILL remember her with great fondness and gratitude for the privilege of knowing her over many years with a life well lived.

So many rich memories including your mom and whole family from the early years of my life attending Niverville MB Church.
May the peace of Christ surround you during this season of loss, and may the hope of knowing she is safe in the arms of Jesus, exploring the wonders of heaven be a deep comfort to you. With care and love, Joan Hildebrand, Guelph, Ontario
