Helen Warkentin Rempel, lived a great life and as a cousin I remember her best in our early years with visits in Lowe Farm, Arnaud and Steinbach and in the recent years when on sister Elisabeth's birthday in September we would have lunch with Helen at the Mennonite Restaurant in Steinbach where we would all have traditional foods like borscht and vyrenicke She was always calm, , engaged , realistic and with her feet on the ground just like her father Isaac Warkentin .She was a great family and generous person , . She will be greatly missed by the Dirks family, with much sympathy to her family and to John, Germaine Winnie and Alfred , John Dirks , Toronto

Mrs Rempel was our neighbor on Kroeker. She was always so kind and caring. My daughters loved sneaking over for visits and always welcomed them with a hug. She was truly a wonderful lady!

My sister, Alexandra, and I visited my aunt Helen and uncle Arnie the summer I was 14. Helen was a generous and attentive hostess and I remember she brought my sister and me to a clothing store to buy little zip up sweatshirt jackets, or hoodies, because she was worried we wouldn't be warm enough (we had come from Montreal, where summer is hot and humid). We visited the great aunts (see family photo) in Winnipeg and did various other things, but my fondest and clearest memory is of the few days we spent at the new family cottage at Bird Lake, where we had a wonderful time.
Helen and Brian came to visit in Montreal when I was in mid-twenties and she also arranged to see me when I was living in Vancouver. She had a few days in the city before her Alaska cruise and she took me out for lunch at Granville Island Market. It was a pleasure to see her. I only wish I had had one more chance to see her.
My aunt Helen was one of the kindest, most gentle souls I have ever met and I will miss her. May you rest in peace now, dear Aunt Helen.

My condolences to the Rempel family.
Your mom was only a phone call away. She loved to chat about my family/her family and our connection with my mother-in-law Laura. She said it like it was and made no apologies. Her frankness was endearing and so appreciated. As her hearing deteriorated, the phone calls to her grew increasingly difficult. I missed that of late and am happy that her challenges in life are over.
It was a delight to work with her in the church kitchen. I am sure “her pew” in church was occupied until she was just not able to be there. Bonnie will be so sad. Helen kept “an eye” on her for as long as she was able and for that Randy and I are grateful. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

The Rempels were our "neighbours" down the road on Mackenzie many, many years ago when I was a little girl. I remember going down to visit and play with Allison & Robert. Years later, when Helen lived at Fernwood, we reconnected when I volunteered at the noon meals. She was always so friendly and positive. I really appreciated the little stories she shared about my parents, Hans & Susie. My condolences to the family on her passing.

I have so many lovely memories of regularly visiting Aunt Helen and Uncle Arnold’s home along with my parents. Aunt Helen always made sure to spend some time asking me questions and showing care for me. I loved her spunk, her laugh, and her love for extended family in which she put time and energy into! She was an extraordinary person that I am thankful to have had in my growing up years.

I have very fond memories of serving with Helen on the women’s ministry at Cornerstone Bible Church. She was a quiet and practical voice and she underestimated her value. My condolences to you, her family.
