Obituary of Jacob Isaac

Jacob Isaac, aged 92 years, of Steinbach, MB., passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 12:05 a.m. at Maplewood Manor, Steinbach, MB.

I was born to Franz and Maria Isaak on February 22, 1929, in Rosenort, Manitoba area.

I answered the call of God and was baptized in the fall of 1943, becoming a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite. I was not always victorious in my young Christian life. Satan wounded me so severely that I died.

In the summer of 1946, the Isaak family moved to the Chortitz area. I, Jac, as I was normally called, attended the Kleefeld Church sometimes.

In the fall of 1949, Kleefeld was having revival meetings. After the last meeting was announced, I decided I would do my family the favour of going to church. That evening God showed me his love and mercy so clearly by offering me complete forgiveness that I could not resist Him. I renewed my vows with God and was reaccepted into church fellowship on January 1, 1950.

Adina Penner and I were united in marriage on June 7, 1957 in Rosenort, Manitoba. We shared life’s experiences for 56 years. To this union eight children came to join us.

He is survived by his children with their chosen partner: Adella and Fred Wiebe of Kleefeld, MB; Marj and Murray Loewen of Spiritwood, SK; Eunice and Gord Wiebe of St. Mary’s, ON; Gerri and Marlin Becker of Halstead, KS; four sons: Tony of  Tyndall, MB; Duane and Geri of Hythe, AB;  Lynn and Nancy of Creston, BC; Marv and Gwen of Spiritwood, SK; daughter-in-law Stella of Stonewall, MB; thirty-three grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Kay of Abbotsford, BC.

Jac was predeceased by his wife and all but one off his siblings.

A come and go viewing will be held Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.  A private funeral service will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., at Maplewood Manor, Steinbach, MB.
