Richard Harder

Obituary of Richard Harder

Richard Harder, aged 67 years, of Winnipeg, MB., passed away suddenly, on Friday, June 12, 2020, at his residence.

He is survived by his mother Susie, of Edmonton, AB., five sisters, uncle Henry & Gertie Unger and his special friend Carol Hans.

He was predeceased by his wife, Grace in 2000, his father, Diedrich, grandparents Diedrich & Aganetha Harder and two sisters.

Richard was born January 9, 1953, in Winnipeg, MB., and was in the care of his grandparents for most of his growing up years. They faithfully took him to church and Sunday School.

At the age of 20, he got a job at C.N. Rail and was employed there for 35 years until his retirement in 2008.

To stay active he mowed the lawns in summer and shoveled snow in winter around the neighbourhood. Whenever someone needed a hand, he was always willing to help.

Richard, together with Carol, enjoyed going to car shows, festivals, Fall Suppers and drives to Steinbach.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with a devotional beginning at 2:30 p.m. Covid 19 restrictions will be in place. Interment to follow at Blumengard Cemetery.

Special thanks to Carol, EMS, Winnipeg Police, Neighbours and to Birchwood Funeral Chapel for all of their help.

Our hope and comfort is in the Lord.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,  who comforts us in all our troubles...”

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
