I met Mr Martens when i was a 19 yr old farm equipment salesman . It was very intimidating for me to go on to a farmers yard to ask for buisiness. He was very nice to me and ever since whenever i saw him i enjoyed meeting him . My condolances to the family. Ben R Loewen

It was special to be able to attend the farewell to Henry from far away Edmonton. Also, thank you, Wanda, for the detailed obituary. It brought back memories of our youth, when Henry was our neighbour, and gave us many a ride to youth meetings and events at church and other places. Sometimes we’d stop at Pete’s Inn before heading home. Those were wonderful years. Henry’s ever friendly smile and chuckle will always be remembered. My condolences to you, Cathy, and the rest of the family. May Our Lord be with you at this time of loss and bring you comfort, hope and peace. Eleanore (Rempel) Woollard

Dear Cathy and family,
Our deepest sympathies to all of you at this time of deep loss! We have many wonderful memories of shared activities during our years of youth including all the rides Henry offered us. During our early married years we remember meeting regularly as part of a cell group in each others’ homes. Sieg remembers the many good times sharing the ups and downs of farming. How we would love to be part of Henry’s celebration of life but will be with you in prayer and spirit as we join you via the live streaming. Thank you Wanda for sharing a beautiful obituary bringing back the many memories of our times with Henry.

Sorry Cathy and family for your loss. When I first met Henry it was a automatic connection. I loved going to men's prayer breakfast with him and just stopping and chatting when we ran into each other time to time. He played a very important role in my early Christian walk and he will always be remembered as a great positive influencer in my life.

Hearing about Henry's death reminds Erna and me of the many enjoyable experiences our families shared. Whether it was watching the Dukes of Hazard on Friday nights or church events or sharing personal issues or doing your farm chores while you took a summer holiday, we appreciated your friendship. May good memories and the assurance of God's presence comfort you now.

How many times did we have breakfast at Jack's Shack and Pancake House? We had so many wonderful hours working together at Edgework Place, and so often we would just stop in our tracks and talk about something important to our lives and our faith. Memories are seemingly endless. What would I have done without your farm equipment, especially your trusty Ford tractor? To me you were a transparent soul, always looking for ways to improve, but always reminding me that you had a long way to go. You will always remain in my heart. May you find the fulfilment in the presence of Christ that you longed for when you were still with us.
