Edwin Funk of Steinbach, fondly known by friends and family as Eddie or Ed, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 13, 2007. He was born October 5, 1928. Ed will be lovingly remembered by Ann his wife of 52 years. They were married in Steinbach on June 30, 1954. He will also be missed by his children and their families: Elaine (Jim) McGreary and their children Matt, Jordan, Devon, great-grandson Skyler; Verna (Aime) Verrier, their daughter Pam (Paul), great-grandson Danny; Bev (Eric Penner), children Elton, Tara (Graeme); Kevan (Leanne), children Michael-Ann, Cody; Heather, children Tabitha (Lyndon), Natasha (Calvin), Levonn (Amanda); great-granddaughter Kiara; Todd (Brigitte). He is also survived by his sisters Trudy, Della (Elvin), Gladys (Bert) and their families, sister-in-law Hilda and family. Eddie was predeceased by his parents Anton and Sadie and recently his brother Alvin. Ed was born in Lowe Farm, MB, where he lived with his family for 10 years. He moved with his family to Steinbach in 1938 where Ed lived for most of the next 69 years. The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach on Monday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. with burial at Heritage Cemetery.
