Obituary of Virgina Kehler

After a courageous battle with cancer, Virginia, aged 43, passed away January 7, 2001 at Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach. Virginia leaves to mourn two daughters Lita and Sagen; her parents Michael and Julia Sofroniuk; four brothers David, Danny, Peter and Leon; and seven sisters Ruth, Marion, Mona, Dalphina, Darlene, Loreili, Julia and their families. Virginia, or “Northwind,” as her family called her because of the way she entered a room, was a compassionate person with a real zest for life. She was always willing to help wherever the need arose. Virginia lived for her girls and her greatest desire was that they grow up knowing God and having the same faith that she herself had. She was able to fulfill her dream of going to Israel and working in a kibbutz in 1985. While there she was baptized in the Jordan River. The funeral service was held Wednesday, January 10, 2:00 p.m. at Elim Mennonite Church, Niverville, with Pastor Peter Braun officiating. Interment at Hespeler Cemetery. Donations for a trust fund for Lita and Sagen Kehler may be made at the Niverville Credit Union, Box 430, Niverville, MB R0A 1E0
