It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather, Arthur Oswald, peacefully at the Vita Hospital on Monday, April 30, 2007. He was predeceased by his wife Frieda in 1999. He will be lovingly remembered by his four children Iris (Claude) Bergman of Penticton, BC, Bernice (Cliff) Flamand, Eleanor (Brian) O’Grady, Gordon (Coreen) of Winnipeg; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was born June 10, 1915 in Friedensfeld, MB. He married Frieda in 1938; farmed in the area until retirement in 1974 and then moved to Steinbach. Dad loved to play guitar and mouth organ and in his earlier years played at many social functions. His hobbies included woodworking, playing horse shoes, a good card game and watching wrestling. The funeral service will be held at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Steinbach on Friday, May 4 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow at the St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Vita Hospital for the wonderful loving and compassionate care they gave Dad.
